Group Therapy Our group programs focus on a variety of areas including speech, language, oral motor, motor and sensory skills. Our group sessions offer the following: > Two licensed speech and language pathologists > Two social groups (see below for more information) > Up to five participants in the group
Areas of Treatment Communication skills that will be addressed include the following: > Expressive language > semantics/concepts > Pragmatics/social skills > Receptive language > Oral motor/articulation Goals and objectives will be determined based on individual needs. Stepping Stones asks you to bring in the most recent speech and language report and/or IEP to determine your child's needs. Also, a baseline will be established at the initial group session.
How will goals be addressed? > Fine motor activities such as cooking, crafts, etc. > Gross motor activities such as obstacle course, ball, etc. > Respiration, singing, and oral-motor activities > Turn taking, role playing, free-play game/activity, problem solving
Individualized Adaptations Adaptations will be used based on the child's individual needs such as: > Pictorial/text environmental labels and sequencing strips > Mayer-Johnson Picture Communication Symbols > Visual Boundaries: mat for tabletop, designated spot when sitting on floor
Cost 450.00 All costs are paid for in full before the start of each session. Space is limited. A deposit is required to register your child. Sunsational Social Circle 1 hour, 30 minutes 6 week summer program Time: 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays Starts: Tuesday, July 1, 2003 Ends: Tuesday, August 5, 2003 Social Ties Circle 1hour, 30 minutes 6 week summer program Time: 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. on Wednesdays Starts: Wednesday, July 2, 2003 Ends: Wednesday, August 6, 2003 Discounts: Each of the above programs is discounted for clients who already receive individual therapy with Stepping Stones to Communication. A discount is given for 6-week programs.
Insurance Claims: Stepping Stones to Communication is a participating provider with Cigna Healthcare only. If you wish to access your benefits through Cigna, we ask that you contact your carrier to determine eligibility and benefits, obtain any referrals if required. Should Cigna deny payment for services, you will be billed directly. Stepping Stones to Communication is not currently a participating provider with any other insurance agencies, therefore, you many need to exercise your out-of-network options. Please pay the full amount of directly to SSC and have your insurance company reimburse you. Please be sure to contact your insurance company to determine if pre-approval is necessary before services begin. Should your insurance company require any information, reports, etc., Stepping Stones to Communication will provide the information requested to help you to process your claims.
